ASS Trip #2: Goose Creek Campground |
| |
|
| |
3.6 miles RT
Elevation gain: 250 feet out, 100 feet back |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
Approaching the big intersection 1.1 mile from the car. Right goes to Goose Creek Campground. |

I took my then-13 year old daughter to Goose Creek Campground
for her first introduction to Adventure Skate Skiing. From the Sno-park
head straight north toward Trinity (what the Forest Service calls
Route 2) for 1.1 mile. Along the way you cross a bridge over the
Chiwawa River – a great place to stop and gawk either going out
or coming back. Reach an intersection 1.1 miles from the Sno-park
and turn right. In 100 feet you come to another intersection, and
turn right again onto (Forest Service) Route 7. Enjoy the flat trail
as it passes through a stand of Douglas Fir until you reach Goose
Creek Campground on the right. The campground itself is buried in
snow this time of year. You can use the flat trail around the campground
to work on your skating technique, before turning around and retracing
your tracks back to the car. |
