The Adventure Skate Skiing (ASS) Homepage

Adventure Skate Skiing (ASS) is skate skiing in non-traditional areas. These include snowmobile tracks and wind-crusted meadows. This guide emphasizes ASS skiing on groomed snowmobile areas. For the adventurous skier, such areas provide an alternative to the goldfish syndrome, i.e., skiing in multiple loops around the same trails. ASS skiing offers challenging terrain, breathtaking mountain scenery, and unparalleled solitude –– as long as you obey ASS Rule #1 (see the Introduction). Check it out and head for the hills.

**November 2007: Lake Wenatchee State Park's terrific 25 km Nason Ridge trail will be closed for the 2007-08 winter due to logging. That's bad news for skiers in the Stevens Pass/Leavenworth area. This leaves ASS trails as the only nearby game in town for long skate ski outings.

Also, adventure skate skiing can be hazardous. Do it at your own risk.
